The challenge
PulseFit had great coaches and a serious retention problem. People signed up in January and disappeared by February. The old app treated every user the same, so a beginner and a marathon runner saw an identical home screen.
Our approach
We made the app adapt instead of nag. Plans adjust when you miss a session rather than shaming you for it, coaches can record short video notes, and the whole experience gets quieter the longer you keep a streak going. We also rebuilt the paywall around the moment users saw their first result.
What we built
- Training plans that reschedule themselves around missed sessions
- Short video and voice notes from coaches to members
- Apple Health and Google Fit sync, with offline workout tracking
- Subscription flow rebuilt around each member's first visible result
